Do you know that gratitude is something we have to practice?
And the more we practice, the better we get at it?

Here are some ways that you can practice gratitude:

1. Take time in the morning or night to write down 10 things you are thankful for.
Dedicate a notebook or journal just for gratitude so you can remind yourself and
reflect on all your blessings.


2. Hit pause when you say “thanks” during the day and consider what you are exactly saying you are thankful for.


3. Redirect your thoughts when you are feeling frustrated or down during the day. Pause, take a deep breath, and shift your mindset to what is positive in the situation. And take time to remember your blessings.


4. Share it! Share your gratitude. Send someone a letter telling them why you are
thankful for them. Have your family share something they are thankful for each night at dinner time.


5. Use visual reminders. Sticky notes on mirrors, pictures on dressers, flowers on the counter, sweet smelling candles, pretty pictures. But the best visual reminders can oftentimes be other people. Look around and see your blessings.


6. Go through the motions. Smile. Journal. Say thank you. Send cards of thanks. And while you practice these things, gratefulness will come more and more.
